2D/3D Generalist
Position Details
Drinkbox Studios is looking to hire an experienced 2D/3D Artist for an upcoming undisclosed project. The ideal candidate will have strong 2D drawing and 3D modelling skills, as well as a good sense for level decoration. We’re looking for someone who can translate 2D concept art to both 3D characters and to 2D/3D level assets, as well as someone who can assist with the placement of those assets in the game’s levels. We're crafting a stylized world, and the designs will be unique and challenging.
Responsibilities
Drinkbox Studios is a collaborative environment. We’re seeking someone with great communication skills and a flexible problem-solving mind. Responsibilities will include:
Working with the Art Director to define a unique look for the environmental objects and characters.
Creation of 2D/3D art (drawing, modelling, and texturing) including environmental props, enemies, NPCs, etc.
Decoration of levels using 2D/3D environmental objects, lighting, and effects to match the intended Art Direction / Concept Art.
Ability to take initiative and quickly prototype.
Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Design, and Art teams.
The Ideal Candidate has:
Professional 2D drawing and 3D modelling/texturing experience.
Ability to create high-quality stylized 3D characters.
Experience with level decoration, including lighting and effect placement.
Experience integrating art into game engines and using 3D art pipelines.
Proficiency in Blender, Maya, or equivalent.
Proficiency in Photoshop.
Willing to think technically, learn new tools, and solve creative problems.
Self sufficient when it comes to problem solving, time management and task management.
A passion for video games and video game art.
Experience with rigging, animation or VFX creation is a plus.
Duration
12 month initial contract, full-time, with the possibility of extension or transition to permanent employee
Salary
Negotiable depending on experience level of candidate
Location
Drinkbox Studios is located in the Liberty Village neighbourhood of Toronto, Canada. Working remotely is allowed, however, residence in Ontario is strongly preferred.
